Give your passenger a boost

by Ken Weingart

Is your significant other vertically challenged? Like short? Is she uncomfortable enough to grouse on a long ride due to her uncomfortable position. Do you really mean to give her something to grumble about?

Nah! In my particular case, my 4-foot 9-inch occupier of the back seat finds her calves resting on the crash bars of the dresser. No, they are not so sharp as to cut her, but after awhile it does get annoying (so she hinted). Add that to the curse of the bad back, and she has a few kind things to say about the luxurious comfort of the FLHTCI. Enter the cure: PegRizer.

PegRizer, Ltd. has designed and manufactured a very slick item they call a "PegRizer". It's a foot-peg positioner for the passenger. It provides an alternate and most comfortable place for the feet. Beautifully crafted in heavy gauge steel and nickel chrome platted, it is a riser for a second set of pegs (not included). It also shifts them forward. On my Classic, the rise is about 7 inches and the pegs moved forward about 5 inches. Because they are above and forward of the original pegs, both sets can be used as the passenger prefers.

They mount in mere minuets to the bracket that supports the stock passenger floorboard. Stainless steel fasteners are included. The OEM floorboards or existing pegs remain unaffected by the PegRizer. They are available in various shapes made to accommodate Harley-Davidson dressers, Road Kings, Dynas, Softails (FLS and FXS), Sportsters, and FXRs. They do caution that they are not to be used to support the full weight of a human- type back seat rider, but nonetheless are very substantially made and securely mounted.

Another rider in our club mounted them on his Electra Glide. Although his passenger/wife Val is blessed with length of leg, he indulged her comfort by allowing her a second position. They also keep her heels from touching the exhaust pipe, eliminating the nasty residue from cooked boots.

PegRizer prices these at a reasonable $99.95. Add $12 for shipping and handling. They also offer foot peg mounting swivels. You can buy foot pegs of your choice from any local dealer. Like they say on their brochure, your passenger will love you for buying them.

i will deny that it ever happened--but---i know this fellow that-- by the way is very satisfied with your pegrizers on his '99 soft tail--somehow managed to tip his shiny new bike over while standing still--Welsh and Whiskey are a heck of a combination--and was even happier with your product when he saw that there was no damage to the bike due to the pegrizer's landing first and proud--the pegrizers and the poor fools hand on the end of the handlebar is all that touched thanks for a great high quality product and the great customer service that got them to me so fast ... thanks again
